What is the strangest/funniest thing that has happened to you on a run?
Last spring while I was doing a recovery run on some trails in Virginia, I tripped on a root and fell. When I rolled over, I realized my last two fingers were pointing the wrong way. I ended up breaking my hand less than 6 days before our conference meet and had to run in a cast from my fingers to my elbow.

What is your biggest running accomplishment and why?
Winning the southeast regional meet in 2008 at UVA. We weren’t expected to be in the top 3, and we earned an automatic bid to nationals.

Favorite race distance?
5k

What is your favorite running mantra?
“Last one fast one” (from a college team member)

Current running goals?
Qualify for the 2016 Olympic trails in the marathon

What are some things you’ve learned about yourself from running?
I’ve learned that in order to get the results you want, you have to believe in yourself above everything else, and have faith that consistancy and perserverence will surpass all adversity.

What gets you excited about running?
If you want to get better, you have to take a chance and push yourself beyond what seems possible. Its exciting that the sky is the limit.

Do you have a favorite race?
Penn Relays- It’s a great atmosphere. I have always run well there.
