Hamilton Street Mile Contest

ATTENTION RUNNERS AND RACERS - The Mayfair Committee concluded a meeting on Monday, September 13th with the following information: Due to a lack of response to the Hamilton Street Mile only 10 days out from the scheduled event, the committee has decided to postpone this event until the spring. The event will be one of a series of events leading up to Mayfair 2011. All four current contest winner’s entries will be honored for the spring race. Deepest apologies from the race director and from Lehigh Valley Running Scene.

On Thursday, September 23rd Hamilton Street in Allentown will shut down
for the area’s newest race: the Hamilton Street Mile.

You’ve heard about mile races in other cities, now it’s our turn!
Come on out and test your speed skills and run your fastest mile ever!

This isn’t JUST a mile race. There are many opportunities for you to shine!

8-14 year olds
Open Women
Open Men
Corporate Challenge
Elite Mile (sub 5:30 women / sub 4:40 men)
High Heel Hundred
Toddler Trot Half Mile with Mom & Dad (children under 7)

From now until the Sunday prior to the event, Hamilton Street Mile and Lehigh Valley Running Scene will be giving away one free entry each week.

Ladies, if you’re not feeling fast or maybe you want to do something different. This race is for you! It’s a 100 meter dash in, you guessed it, high heels. Heels must be higher than 2½ inches. See official rules for more details on shoe specifications.

Each weekly contest will run Monday through Sunday. A winner will be chosen at random every Sunday at 6:00 pm. To enter you will need to submit your name in a comment below.

Contest Rules:
One entry allowed per person each week.
One winner per week.
No persons will be able to win more than once.
Race entries are non-transferable and non-negotiable.
Winners are selected at random using a random number generator.
Weekly contest ends on Sundays at 6:00 pm.
Final contest ends Sunday, September 19, 2010.
