Runners can experience pain and discomfort from the jarring impact the body suffers when the feet “hit the road”. Often this pain stems from imbalances in the body caused from running. Our Yoga for Runner’s class will show you ways to integrate classic yoga poses into your routine, either pre-run or after. We will demonstrate methods to increase strength and flexibility, develop better body awareness and conscious breathing. This class is open to all levels, even non-runners.

Location: Northampton Community College

The race will be held at 9am on the main campus of Northampton Community College on Green Pond Road. In addition to the run, a 1 mile walking course will also be available.

The Pink Ribbon Tour 2010 will be on location all morning with those dazzling pink fire trucks! Race information, registration forms and volunteer registration forms are all available on the Company Web site. Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Luke's Cancer Center in Bethlehem and Sally Stierer, Company member suffering from eye cancer. Pink Tee shirts, black Tee shirts and a specially minted Pink Ribbon Tour challenge coin are available in the store section of the Web site. If you wish to volunteer to help on race day, or need more information, please call Safety Officer Bill Andress at 610-392-5861.

* D and H Distance RunD and H Distance Run

D&H Distance Run

Location: Forest City

The D&H Distance Run benefits the resurfacing of the next ten miles of trail from Herrick Center to Thompson. This 13.1 mile race will be an "out and back" run on the D&H Rail-Trail from Forest City to Union Dale. The trail is basically flat, approximately 15 feet wide, and recently resurface with fine crushed stone. There is a slight upgrade going northward and a slight downgrade for the return and finish. The run is a great tune-up for those training for the Steamtown Marathon and a great race for those attempting longer distance runs. All finishers will receive a D&H Distance pin. No duplicate awards. This year the field is limited to the first 325 registrants. Register as soon as possible.

Location: Harrisburg

Come get muddy at one of the largest single day urban adventure races in the country! Our most unique course ever. We have taken the best of the last 10 years and added even more- more mud, more water, more challenges, more chances to get lost, same great post race party. Teams of 3 (coed, single sex, masters) get to run (5mi), mountain bike (20mi),canoe (5mi), and complete special team "challenges". You should be prepared to swim short distances and scale large mountains "maybe some climbing events (no special skills required)". Past competitors have repelled, zip-lined, shot off water balloon cannons, lumber jack sawed, and orienteer their way around Harrisburg. NO water or food provided during the race you need to support your own team. Teams are permitted (and encouraged) to help other teams but NO outside support!!! Water from the Susquehanna river and all the road kill you can eat will be available to your team for a nominal fee.
