Summer Running Camp For Kids

Registration is now open for the Trojan Cross Country Camp which takes place this summer at Parkland High School. Camp is held from Wednesday through Saturday, July 6-9, 2011 and is open for children ages 5-14. (You do not need to be a student of Parkland School District to attend this camp.) Camp runs from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm daily and culminates in an actual race on Saturday, July 9. The race takes place in Lehigh Parkway as part of LVRR’s Kids’ Summer Series races.
Daily activities at camp include:
8:30-9:00 AM – Check in at track
9:00-9:15 AM – Camp Orientation
9:15-11:30 AM – Activity Sessions
11:30-12:00 PM – Stretching
12:00-12:30 PM – Snack
12:30-1:00 PM – Daily Review
2:00 PM – Pick up at track
Activities and discussions in which children will participate are as follows:
Warm up & Cool down sessions, Drills, Nutrition, Stretching, Strengthening, Cross Training, Equipment, Pool Running, Race Planning, Running Journal, Games, Hills, College …
Each child should come dressed in their workout gear and bring a water bottle and snack with them each day.
