Brew Works Happy Hour a Success!

Last night, I was speechless. Okay, so I’m not that great at getting up in front of a crowd of people, public speaking has never been my forté. I’m more of a behind-the-scenes kind of gal, so excuse my ill attempt at thanking everyone for showing up last evening. As I mentioned a couple days ago, I was excited about how many people planned to make an appearance last night. I am most in awe of the fact that people came out on their birthdays and anniversaries. Yes, there was an anniversary couple in the crowd last night. I have no official head count but a rough guess would be between 125-150 people during the busiest point of the evening. It was so neat to look around the room and see so many runners hanging out and having a good time at some place other than a race venue.
Nine months ago I came up with this little idea of building a website that would contain all the local running information I could find. I hoped that it might be helpful to someone, anyone. I had no idea if anyone would even look at it. Last February I never imagined an event like last night’s Happy Hour taking place. Runners are awesome people. Your participation in last night’s Happy Hour event proved to me – and to everyone – that we have quite an incredible runner community here in the Lehigh Valley. Thank you so much for coming out!
Brew Works on the Green did a fantastic job at keeping everyone happy. A huge thank you to Sean, Amanda and the rest of the staff. Thank you so much for opening (and closing) your doors for us.
Thank you to Jerry from Try Chips who drove 2 hours to make it to our little shindig. He definitely gets props for longest distance traveled to attend. Jerry worked the crowd, handing out bags of his awesome chips (freeze dried fruits such as apples, bananas, blueberries, acai berries, etc.) I can assure you, he will be back.
Thank you very much to all of the raffle sponsors. Money from the raffle went towards the food bill.
Rochelle Romeo of Run Lehigh Valley for the race entries
Laura Pudloski for the massage gift certificates
Jill Killo for the gift certificate to her coffee shop, Perk on Main
Britt Tagg for the yoga passes to Emmaus Yoga
