Winner of Hersheypark Passes
Congratulations to this week’s Giveaway Contest winner, Loretta Dodson, who won 4 free passes to Hersheypark.
This week’s giveaway was sponsored by Hershey Half Marathon.
The Hershey Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, October 3rd. The race will begin and end in Hersheypark Stadium, wind through Hershey Town USA and the amusement park before leaving the Hershey property to meander past Hershey Childrens Hospital and other local roads in the area. There is also a half marathon relay if perhaps you and a friend care to race as a team. Proceeds from the race benefit Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Your registration fee includes entry to Hersheypark for you and your family on Saturday evening from 6:00-9:00 pm. I’d also like to mention that there is a kids Fun Run on Saturday at 5:45 pm for children ages 13 and under.
Registration is approaching 1500 and only 2500 entries are available.
I’d love to know if you plan to run it – leave a comment below if you plan to sign up or already have. I will definitely be there (registered last week)!

Does one registration get your whole family in for the night? Heck, that might be a good value even if you’re not doing the run! I might have to consider suffering through a half…
I’ll be there! Your original contest post about it convinced me to sign myself and my husband up for the relay. We’re both so excited!!! Can’t wait to find out more about that Chocolate Aid station!

D&H Distance Run

The D&H Distance Run benefits the resurfacing of the next ten miles of trail from Herrick Center to Thompson. This 13.1 mile race will be an "out and back" run on the D&H Rail-Trail from Forest City to Union Dale. The trail is basically flat, approximately 15 feet wide, and recently resurface with fine crushed stone. There is a slight upgrade going northward and a slight downgrade for the return and finish. The run is a great tune-up for those training for the Steamtown Marathon and a great race for those attempting longer distance runs. All finishers will receive a D&H Distance pin. No duplicate awards. This year the field is limited to the first 325 registrants. Register as soon as possible. at 9:00 am

Runners can experience pain and discomfort from the jarring impact the body suffers when the feet “hit the road”. Often this pain stems from imbalances in the body caused from running. Our Yoga for Runner’s class will show you ways to integrate classic yoga poses into your routine, either pre-run or after. We will demonstrate methods to increase strength and flexibility, develop better body awareness and conscious breathing. This class is open to all levels, even non-runners. at 7:30 am
