Why not join the Breakfast Club Runners and celebrate this weekend with a run Saturday, July 3rd at 7:30 am. Meet at Penn Pump Park, located at Bushkill Drive and Northwood Ave in Palmer Township. It’s shaded and flat, 2.5 miles out, 2.6 miles back. Run as far as you want. After the run head on over to Diner 248 for breakfast!

LVRR’s third Summer Series 5k race will be held Wednesday, July 7 at 6:30. Registration opens at 5:15. Cost is $5.00 per race – tough price to say no to. BYOB and a covered dish to share for the post-race feast – (this is the best part of the race.)

Run Daddy 5k

Mike Marsteller of HCM Foundation (featured here on the website a month ago) wishes to thank everyone for their participation and help with making the Run Daddy 5k a huge success. 210 people participated in the 5k, 2 mile walk and ½ mile Kids Run on Father’s Day and a $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Samantha Rayhon to assist her at college; she will be attending West Chester University this fall to pursue a career in Nursing. The purpose of HCM’s College Scholarship Program is to assist students who have been significantly impacted by cancer and/or wish to pursue a career in a cancer related field. HCM’s next event will be the Fox Chase Cancer Event which will include a 5k, a 1½ mile walk/fun run and a ½ mile kids fun run. This event will take place on Saturday, August 7th at 9:00 a.m. in Jenkintown, proceeds will benefit the Fox Chase Cancer Center patients and the HCM College Scholarship Program.

A Solid Foundation from the Ground Up- Tonight there will be a free talk on the importance of footwear. Covering different types of foot pain, foot types, orthotics and the proper shoes out there for all of these topics. Chris Schmidt (owner of The Finish Line Running Store) and Jesse Schimmer, P.T, D.P.T will be giving the presentation. Time: 6:30 pm, Location: 1040 Chestnut st, First Floor, Emmaus

Last week’s LVRR hosted Healthy Kids hike was a great success. Why not join up for a fun hike this coming Thursday’s hike at South Mountain in Emmaus? Keep your kids moving and active by introducing them to the fun side of exercising. Meet at South Mountain on Thursday, July 1st at 1:00 pm in the parking lot on Alpine Street in Emmaus.
