Congratulations to all of the local runners who ran the Boston Marathon yesterday. I counted 48 local runners, a great local showing at such a prestigious race! You all did us very proud.
The Pocono Record is looking for contestants in this year’s Run for the Red Pocono Marathon. – “How many marathons have you run? What are your goals for the Run for the Red? What made you decide to run? Tell us a little about yourself. We’ll publish your profile along with a photo of you preparing for the big race.”
For those of you who are running the St. Luke’s Lehigh Valley Half Marathon on Sunday, the start time has been moved up to 8:00 am and the 5k start time is at 8:10 am. See LVRR facebook page for more details.
The LVRR Kids Committee needs some more adult volunteers to help with the Kids Race this Saturday. Help is needed at the registration tables, at the family area to help reunite 3-6 year olds with their parents after the race, transporting tables to and from the Hilton hotel to PPL Plaza for registration before and after the race among various other duties. Please contact Loretta with your interest.
Stop by The Finish Line Running Store this Thursday from 3-7 pm for free gait analysis and shoe fitting by Saucony. There is also a 10% discount on Saucony shoes and 15% discount on Saucony apparel.
Looking for more runners to appear in the weekly Runner Spotlight for the month of May. Please email me at jill@lvrunningscene.com and I will send you some very easy questions to answer.

Does anyone know if we need to bring our current running shoes or anything for the gait analysis? I’ve never had one done before. Thanks.
Hi Jon, I just got back from The Finish Line. You can wear your shoes over if you want. They will put you in a shoe and then have you walk, preferably run, on the treadmill. There is video hooked up and they get a good close up of your gait. It’s very neat and the guys are very knowledgeable. Have fun!
Ok, thanks Jill. I’ll stop @ home so I don’t have to run in my suit. ;)
