Garmin Announces It’s Newest GPS-enabled Watch

Garmin just announced today that it will soon be selling a new GPS watch, the Forerunner 110. It’s as sleek looking as the Forerunner 405 but much more stylish as you can see in the photo. This simpler version is missing some of the features of it’s more robust higher end brothers (310 and 405) but if it’s the basics you’re looking for, this one’s a winner. The Forerunner 110 will show you distance, pace and time. There will also be a version which shows your heart rate. The new watch comes in three color choices: black & gray, charcoal & red and gray & pink.

The watch will first make an appearance in Boston on April 19th and will be available for purchase beginning in May, 2010.

It will retail for $199.99 for the watch only  and $249.99 for watch and heart rate monitor.

Awesome – can’t wait to check this out in the store. I can’t bring myself to buy a 405 and the other ones are so big…

I am not ashamed to say that I love my Forerunner 405 and am a total geek about downloading and analyzing every aspect of my workouts. The heart rate monitor and elevation change tracker have been really helpful, too.

I love the simplicity of this new watch but looking at the features I think I would really miss my Advanced Workouts. I use that feature a lot. Otherwise, it looks like a great basic workout watch.

I have one of the older big versions. This new one appeals to me since it looks less like a Star Trek communication device and more like a watch.

I agree with you Tracy! I have the old version too and this one looks very appealing! My old Star Trek device won’t die though!!
