Superbowl 10k

Yesterday, 398 runners lined up to run the Lehigh Valley Road Runners 9th Annual Superbowl 10k. Chris Garges and Carly Patterson took over race director duties this year and did a fantastic job. Despite a snow storm blowing through the area only two days before the race, causing a slight snafu with setting up a post-race tent, the race went off without a hitch. Snow on the Parkway’s trails caused the course to be re-routed to the streets but this didn’t seem to pose a problem for the runners. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the day’s race. An outdoor fire warmed runners before and after the race and runners enjoyed pizza, gatorade, soft drinks and water at the finish line. Chris and Carly set up a website which worked out perfectly as far as getting information out to the public in the days leading up to the race. Congratulations to first place male, Bouchaib Chakir (34:21) and first place female, Kathleen Jobes (37:17) as well as all the other runners who finished the race.
