Runners & Social Networking

I was over on Twitter the other day and decided to follow a link that GOTRLC (Girls On The Run Lehigh county) posted.

The five social networks for runners, according to notorias, were:
- nikerunning.nike.com
- DAILYMILE.COM
- Runners World Online forums
- athlinks.com
- runnerplus.com
This got me to thinking, what other runner’s social network sites are out there? I’m familiar with quite a few and I know that my list is not nearly as comprehensive as it could be but here is a start to what’s out there, just in case you have some time to kill.
Social Networking – Your basic online community centered around running
Runner+
Tribal Running
Just Finish
Go Wagon – set up like twitter, your workouts are “tweeted” to your friends
Running Forums
Runners World Online forums
active
kickrunners
LetsRun
Running Logs – (many of these have a social networking aspect to them)
dailymile
Buckeye Outdoors
Running Ahead
LogYourRun
MapMyRun
TrainingPeaks
Other running sites:
athlinks
racevine
Complete Running Network
Runcast TV – a video community for runners by runners
Running Podcasts
Phew! And that’s just a start. There are many more websites out there devoted to running which offer discussion forums and social features. This list is just off the top of my head.
Do you have any sites to add? Leave a comment below and I will compile a list and create a links page at some point in the future.

I would add the McMillan running calculator
http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm
Also Running in the USA to find races elsewhere:
http://www.runningintheusa.com/Race/Default.aspx
and something else that I have used… it is a site that lets you figure out the beats per minute for music:

nice job, Jill
Please become a Facebook Fan of the Breakfast Club Runners. We are a group of folks that gets together every Saturday morning at 7:30 am and runs. We pick a different venue in the Lehigh Valley every week. (and we’re always looking for new places to run. Any Suggestions?) Most of us are currently from the Easton-P’burg area and ALL abilities are welcome.
Naturally, as our name would indicate, we go out for Breakfast after our run! (always looking for new places to eat also!)
