If you’re like me you enjoy an energy bar as a pick me up snack but cringe at the pricetag in the grocery store. Why not make your own? It’s actually a lot easier than you think.
Ingredients:
3½ cups Rolled oats
¾ cup Light syrup; – or honey
2 scoops Protein powder
1½ cup Non-fat dry milk
1 tbsp Cinnamon
2 Egg whites
¼ cup Juice – orange juice, etc. Any will do!
½ tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup Chopped dates – again, customize to your tastes
1½ Bananas, mashed
Directions:
1. Mix all of the dry ingredients
2. Add the liquid ingredients and mix well
3. Spread on waxed paper (use non-stick spray if you prefer) and shape into bars
4. (Some have used muffin tins – use your imagination!)
5. Bake at 325°F for approximately 15 minutes – remove from oven when the bottom of the bars have turned golden brown
6. Let cool… and enjoy!!

This I really need to try! Other than shoes and clothes…and entry fees, I am such a miser when it comes to things for me with running.
